The Missing Link: Why We Paired U.S. Hardware with Ground-Up American Software

In agriculture, timing is everything. If a drone or its software isn’t ready when the field is ready, it’s a liability, not a tool.

When we set out to build a heavy-duty spray drone platform, we knew that conquering the hardware was only half the battle. A rugged, reliable aircraft is useless if the software running it is a glitchy, confusing mess that slows you down in the field. American operators were tired of wrestling with foreign apps that felt like an afterthought, and they were growing increasingly concerned about where their proprietary farm data was actually being stored.

We knew we couldn’t put an Exedy badge on a drone powered by a re-skinned open-source UI. We needed a digital brain that was just as robust and reliable as our hardware.

Here is how we completed the puzzle by pairing our automotive-grade manufacturing with software developed in the United States from the ground up.

01The Problem with Foreign Flight Software

For years, custom applicators have had to compromise. You buy a drone, and you are forced to use software that isn’t built for American farming practices. You waste time converting metric measurements, digging through hidden screens, and dealing with interfaces that are impossible to read on a bright, dusty day.

Worse yet, you have zero control over your data. With foreign-built systems, your flight logs, field maps, and application data are routed through overseas servers, leaving your operation vulnerable. We realized that to provide a truly reliable tool, we had to eliminate the foreign guesswork.

02Exedy Software: Built for the American Operator

To solve this, Exedy Drones partnered with American Software Partners to ensure our software platform was secure, hosted on U.S. servers, and made for the American operator. It isn’t just an app; it is a comprehensive platform for everything from mission planning and spraying or spreading applications to pre-flight and post-flight activities. Operators can manage field and flight records, pilots, aircraft, maintenance schedules, warranty tracking, and more, all within a single platform. It uses the imperial system (gallons, acres, and feet) right out of the box. The interface is field-ready, featuring big buttons and high-contrast layouts optimized for the outdoors, and integrated with our software to get your flight data into farm management tools, application maps, FAA reports and more.

03Total Control and Data Security

When you fly an Exedy drone, you own your data. Information is secured on U.S.-based servers. Furthermore, 100% of the software engineers and customer support team live and work in the U.S. full-time.

This U.S.-based architecture isn’t just about data security; it is about compliance. Through integration with our software, operators can easily complete FAA Part 137 reporting requirements.

04The Complete Domestic Ecosystem

By combining Exedy’s scalable, U.S.-built hardware with American software and an authorized dealer and support network backed by an industry-leading enablement partner, we have built an ecosystem that simply does not exist anywhere else in the market.

We didn’t just build a drone; we built a better way to manage your spray season. Exedy Drones are Built Different, Built for U.S. Operators.
